A note on Mahjong's roots

Mahjong is a game with deep cultural roots, originating in 19th-century China and played in many regional styles across East and Southeast Asia. Over the last century, it has also grown in the United States, where American Mahjong uses its own standardized rules and tile count.

Our sets follow the American Mahjong structure (suits, tile types, tile counts, and gameplay), but the visual artwork on the suits is our own original design. Some of our collections use more playful or themed interpretations of the suit artwork, but these changes are purely aesthetic. They do not alter the meaning, order, or gameplay function of the suits. The underlying game mechanics, symbols, and tile categories remain consistent with American Mahjong standards.
